The Mount Royal is hazy. People got lazy.
It’s 420 in Montreal. International Marijuana Smoking Day.
Young. Old. Medicinal or recreational.
All smoking for the same goal.
“Legalize it! Legalize it!”
Peter Tosh on the massive speakers.
“Marijuana is now legal in Canada! The New Year starts today!”
Repeats the MC.
Everybody cheers. You can smell the craziness.
Earlier that day, the Canadian Government announced the creation of a law regulating the selling and use of marijuana.
For next spring.
Will it be legal? Will it be decriminalized?
Whatever the outcome, today, it’s still illegal to buy it, own it, and smoke it.
But it didn’t stop Montreal’s cannabis users from smoking their herbs on their mountain.
No police officers were seen. No arrests were made.
